About these terms

Protostar is a Discord bot and the website at protostar.digital, including its dashboard. By adding Protostar to a server, using its commands, or using the website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Protostar.

Who can use Protostar

You must be old enough to use Discord where you live, and you must follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. If you add Protostar to a server, you confirm you're allowed to manage that server.

Your responsibilities

Server admins are responsible for how Protostar is set up and used in their servers, including messages, automod rules, roles and alerts.

Don't use Protostar to:

• harass people, spam, or mass-ping;
• break the law or Discord's rules;
• try to break into, overload or disrupt Protostar or its website;
• access servers or information you aren't allowed to; or
• get around its limits or security.

Streaming and social platforms

Connections, live alerts and social post alerts use information from Twitch, Kick, YouTube, Bluesky, Mastodon, the websites whose feeds you add, and other platforms. Protostar isn't affiliated with or endorsed by them, and their own terms apply to their services. Features that depend on them can change or stop working when a platform changes, especially TikTok, which has no official way to check whether someone is live.

Paid features

Protostar is free to use. If paid features are offered in the future, their price and terms will be shown before you buy.

Donations

You can support Protostar with a voluntary donation. Donations are gifts: they don't buy features, priority support or any particular service, and the donation service's own terms apply to the payment.

Changes and availability

Features may be added, changed or removed, and Protostar may sometimes be unavailable. We work to keep it running and your settings safe, but can't promise it will always be available or that data will never be lost.

Ending use

You can stop using Protostar at any time by removing it from your server. We may stop providing Protostar to anyone who breaks these terms or uses it to cause harm.

No warranty

Protostar is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what happens in your server because of how Protostar is set up or used. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for Protostar in the 12 months before it.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, this page and the date at the top will be updated. Using Protostar after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Pennsylvania, United States, except where the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived.
